Lenswise Terms of Service

Effective date: 29 September 2026

These terms apply when you use Lenswise on Android or iOS. By downloading or using Lenswise you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. Who provides Lenswise

Lenswise is provided by Hamza Anas, an independent developer in Australia (“I”, “me”). Contact: hello@getlenswise.com.

2. What Lenswise is

Lenswise measures the light with your phone’s camera, takes into account the sun, the moon and the weather where you are, and recommends manual camera settings for the kind of photograph you choose.

Its recommendations are estimates, not guarantees. Phones differ, light changes, and results depend on many things outside the app’s control. You decide what to photograph and how; Lenswise does not promise any particular result. Always take care of your own safety and follow local laws and rules when you go out to take photographs.

3. Your licence to use the app

You may install and use Lenswise on devices you own or control, for your personal use, under these terms and the terms of the store you downloaded it from. This licence is personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable. If you are under 18, you may use Lenswise only with the permission of a parent or guardian.

You may not copy, sell, rent or redistribute the app, reverse-engineer it except where the law allows you to. All rights in Lenswise, its recipes, text and design remain with me. Lenswise includes open-source software, which is licensed under its own terms.

4. Subscriptions

Lenswise is a paid app. After the introduction, using it requires an active subscription.

Plans and prices. Lenswise offers annual and weekly plans. Their prices are shown in the app before you buy, in your local currency as set by your app store. Your app store confirms the amount before you pay.

Free trials. A plan may include a free trial. Your app store decides who is eligible (for example, you may not get a trial if you have had one before) and shows the final terms, including whether a trial applies and how long it lasts, before you confirm. You are not charged during the trial. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, the subscription starts and you are charged at the end of the trial. On the App Store, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. If you allow notifications, the app may remind you before a trial ends, but you are responsible for cancelling in time.

Automatic renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period (for example, each year or each week) at the then-current price, until you cancel. On the App Store, auto-renewal must be turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. If the price changes, your app store will notify you as its rules require.

Payment. Payment is charged to your Google Play or Apple account and is processed by Google or Apple, not by me.

Cancelling. You can cancel at any time in your app store’s subscription settings:

• Android: in the Google Play Store’s subscription settings, or from Settings → Subscription in Lenswise. Google’s instructions: https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/7018481

Cancelling stops future charges. You keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for. Uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription.

Refunds. Payments are taken by Google Play or the App Store, so refund requests go to them first, under their refund policies (Google Play: https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/2479637; App Store: https://reportaproblem.apple.com). If you think Lenswise has not met a guarantee you have under the Australian Consumer Law or a similar law, contact me and I will help you get the remedy you are entitled to. Nothing in these terms limits any refund or remedy you are entitled to by law.

Restoring purchases. Your subscription is tied to your Google or Apple account, not to the device. When you reinstall Lenswise or change devices, the app checks your app-store account automatically. If it does not find your subscription, use Restore purchase on the subscription screen, or Settings → Restore purchases.

5. Permissions and privacy

Lenswise needs camera access to work. Location and notifications are optional. How information is handled is explained in the Lenswise Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

6. Weather data and other services

Weather information is based on data from MET Norway, licensed under the Norwegian Licence for Open Government Data (NLOD) 2.0 and Creative Commons BY 4.0. Forecasts can be wrong, and weather data may sometimes be unavailable; when it is, the app says so and carries on without it.

Lenswise relies on third-party services (for example, the app stores, RevenueCat and MET Norway) that I do not control. They may occasionally be unavailable, or change independently of Lenswise.

7. Acceptable use

Use Lenswise lawfully and only for its intended purpose. Do not interfere with the app or the services it uses, tamper with its requests, or try to get around the subscription. You are responsible for complying with the laws that apply where you take photographs.

8. Changes to the app

I may update, change or remove features and recipes over time, and recommendations may change as the app improves. If I stop offering Lenswise, I will try to give notice in the app or on its store page.

9. Your consumer rights, and limits on liability

Your consumer rights come first. Lenswise comes with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law, and you may have similar rights under the laws of the country where you live. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies those rights or remedies. The rest of this section applies only to the extent those laws allow.

Subject to that, I do not promise that Lenswise will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that its recommendations will produce any particular result. I am not liable for loss that was not reasonably foreseeable, or for lost photographs or opportunities, arising from your use of Lenswise. My total liability to you for any claim relating to Lenswise is limited to the amount you paid for Lenswise in the 12 months before the claim, except where the law does not allow this limit.

10. Ending these terms

You can stop using Lenswise at any time; remember to cancel your subscription in your app store so you are not charged again. I may suspend or end your access if you seriously breach these terms. Sections 2, 3 (ownership), 9 and 12 continue to apply after these terms end.

11. Apple App Store

If you downloaded Lenswise from Apple’s App Store:

• These terms are between you and me, not Apple. I, not Apple, am responsible for Lenswise and its content.
• Your licence is limited to using Lenswise on Apple devices that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, except that Lenswise may also be used by other accounts associated with you through Family Sharing or volume purchasing.
• I am solely responsible for any maintenance and support for Lenswise, as set out in these terms or as required by law. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Lenswise.
• If Lenswise fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price (if any) for the app. To the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for Lenswise, and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses caused by a failure to conform to a warranty are my responsibility, not Apple’s, to the extent these terms or the law make them so.
• I, not Apple, am responsible for addressing any claims by you or others relating to Lenswise, including product-liability claims, claims that it does not meet legal or regulatory requirements, and claims under consumer-protection, privacy or similar laws.
• If anyone claims that Lenswise or your use of it infringes their intellectual-property rights, I, not Apple, am responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement and discharge of that claim. Apple is not responsible for it.
• You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
• You must comply with any third-party terms that apply when you use Lenswise.
• Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Western Australia, Australia. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in the courts there. If you have a problem, please email me first; most things can be sorted out quickly.

13. Google Play

If you downloaded Lenswise from Google Play, your purchase is also subject to Google Play’s terms of service. Google is not a party to these terms.

14. Changes to these terms

I may update these terms. The effective date at the top shows when they last changed. If a change materially affects your subscription, I will tell you in the app or on the store listing before it takes effect, and you can cancel before then.
